UIndy's Katz and McClure garner women's lacrosse athlete of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the Week 8 GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2019 season. Indianapolis junior Destinie Katz was named Offensive Player of the Week, while UIndy junior Riley McClure was named Defensive Player of the Week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Destinie Katz - Indianapolis

Redshirt junior Destinie Katz (Manorville, N.Y.) claimed her second offensive weekly honor of the season after totaling 16 points in the victories over Northern Michigan and Concordia-St. Paul. She recorded a hat trick and five assists at Northern Michigan on Thursday and added 1-7--8 during the Hounds' 16-11 victory over CSP.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Riley McClure - Indianapolis

Junior defense Riley McClure (Ancaster, Ont.) secured the third defensive accolade of her career and first since 2017 after tallying 14 draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover last week. McClure controlled the circle over the weekend to give the Greyhound offense a boost, even adding a pair of assists in the win at Concordia-St. Paul.
