BAY CITY, Mich. - Hillsdale College junior Joshua Mirth (Platteville, Wis./Homeschooled) and Ferris State University senior Samantha Johnson (Troy, Mich./Troy) have been chosen as the Men's & Women's Cross Country "Runners of the Week", respectively.

Hillsdale College junior Joshua Mirth took second place at the UW-Parkside Rose Invitational Saturday afternoon in Wisconsin. He finished the 8K course in 25:04.3. He was named All-American in 2012 and has consistently been the Chargers’ top runner throughout this season. He was the number one college-affiliated runner at Saturday’s meet, and this is the second time in his career he’s been named GLIAC men’s cross country runner of the week.

Ferris State University

Ferris State University’s Samantha Johnson claimed the individual championship at the annual Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside last Saturday (Oct. 12) in Kenosha, Wis. The Bulldog standout clocked 17:25.5 to win a large field in the 5K race. Her performance helped the Bulldogs to a ninth place overall finish in the team standings of more than 25 competing schools in the regional event. She was one of two Bulldog runners to place in the top four overall along with senior Anna Rudd.
