BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University junior Drew Windle (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) and senior Donald Duke (Clarington, Ohio/Hannibal River) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

Drew Windle - Ashland
Junior - New Albany, Ohio/New Albany
Ashland University junior mid-runner Drew Windle won the 800 meters last week at Grand Valley State’s Big Meet. His time – 1:48.05 – is the best in the country on the NCAA Division II level and it is the fastest time ever recorded by a Division II student-athlete, regardless of track size. For a day last weekend, it was the best time in the nation in all divisions. Including outdoor performances, he is the ninth fastest performer in comprehensive indoor and outdoor history for NCAA Division II. Windle also ran on the 4X4 relay that clocked in at 3:13.78 at GVSU. That is the top time in the nation (NCAA II) and is an automatic qualification for nationals. Windle’s time in the 800 is also an automatic qualification. Windle is this week’s USTFCCCA NCAA Division II national track athlete of the week.

Senior - Clarington, Ohio/Hannibal River
Ashland University senior thrower Donald Duke finished second in the shot put last week at Grand Valley State’s Big Meet. His best effort measured 62-7.75. That puts him second on the national list and it is an automatic qualifier for nationals.
