ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Daniil Tarantinov, Ferris State
Ferris State senior Daniil Tarantinov helped lead the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs to two big GLIAC victories last week as FSU topped rivals Northwood and Grand Valley State by identical 7-2 scores. Tarantinov went a perfect 4-0 on the week as he teamed up with Austin Debruyne for doubles wins both days at the second flight along with also going 2-0 in singles action at the number three flight in the FSU lineup. Tarantinov was a straight-set singles winner in Thursday's road win over the Timberwolves before pulling out a three-set triumph with a rally in the final two sets versus GVSU. His play helped FSU improve to 14-2 overall and stay atop the GLIAC with a perfect 4-0 mark while stretching FSU's win streak to 11-straight victories. Ferris State also stayed unbeaten at 7-0 in home matches at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center with Saturday's win over the Lakers.
