2016 Lake Erie Preview

A young Lake Erie College volleyball team looks to build off of the momentum built from the 2015 season in 2016.  The Storm finished the 2015 season with a 9-20 overall record (2-15 GLIAC) under first-year Head Coach Kevin Foeman.  Down the stretch, the Storm won three of their final six games, including a five set win over then South Division leading Ashland University.

Several key players return to the Storm including 2015 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention Crystal Kedroske.  Appearing in all 29 matches, Kedroske recorded 239 kills and 362 digs.  Along with Kedroske are the other two team leaders in kills last season, junior Madison Russell and senior Leondra Barrett.  Russell led the Storm with 265 kills while Barrett totaled 195. Barrett led the Storm with 60 blocks. Junior Bethany Fisher was fourth on the team last year with 186 kills. Sophomores Alexis Thomas and Courtney Stedman led the Storm in assists last year as freshman, tallying 517 and 303, respectively.  Thomas was also second on the team with 225 kills.  Junior Sidney Fletcher was third with 214 digs.

The Storm kick-off the season with the Clarion Invitational on September 3.  They open up GLIAC play on September 16 against Walsh University.
