2018 Wisconsin-Parkside Preview
Behind eighth year head coach Jason Zitzke, Parkside men’s soccer will compete as members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for the first time in 2018.
Last season, the Rangers finished 5-9-2 overall and 5-7-2 in the GLVC. The Green & White welcome back Second Team All-GLVC honoree Leki Prpa, who was the team leader in goals (8) and points (21) while tying for the team lead in assists (5). Prpa was also one of five men’s soccer players in the conference to be named USCA Division II Scholar All-Region.
Joining Prpa includes three of the team’s other top-5 goal scorers in Jorge Garcia, Vic Vera and Brandon Henderson as well as co-assist leader Burim Huseini. Other returners include Baldemar Ramirez, Zach Manibog, Reyes Perez, Joe Elwell, Evan Garcia, Petar Krecak, Jack Krenzien, Miles Sever, Chance Vang, Stevi Krecak, Noah Prokash, Max Ludwig, Nickola Kesich, Dejan Rokvic, Mason Lineman, Connor Tresp and Nikola Prpa.
Newcomers for the Rangers include Henry Bruer, Kapaw Htoo, Juan Gonzalez, Chance Vang and Max Vang.
Parkside opens the season at home against Upper Iowa on Aug. 31. Conference play begins on Sept. 14 at Saginaw Valley State before the Rangers welcome Northwood on Sept. 21 for the GLIAC home opener.
