2019 Lewis Preview

The Lewis Flyer women’s lacrosse team is ready to take flight for its inaugural season with a mix of freshmen and transfers on its roster.

This is head coach Kirk Lamitie’s second time starting a program. He started the program at Illinois Tech in 2014. After going 0-11 in his inaugural season he led the Scarlet Hawks to a 15-2 mark in 2017.

Lamitie wants to put a product out on the field that is going to compete with some of the other first year teams.

Lamitie is expecting big things from transfer Mackenzie Turner along with freshman Alyson Jines to help them be successful on offense while on the defensive side he’s counting on freshman Madeline Scherf to help set the tone. The Flyers also have a battle going on in goal between sophomore transfer Elizabeth Baeder and freshman Faith Engle.
