Junior middle hitter Caryn VanBeckum led Northern Michigan to a GLIAC home sweep last weekend, including an upset of #8 Grand Valley State. She helped the Wildcats solidify their second-place position in the North Division with a 3-1 win over Ferris State on Saturday, tallying 16 kills, eight total blocks, and three aces while hitting at a .324 clip. On Sunday, VanBeckum tallied a career-high 26 kills while hitting .394 with six digs and two blocks in the 3-2 upset of GVSU, who was previously unbeaten in GLIAC play. She averaged 4.67 kills per game in the two wins while hitting at a .363 clip.

Senior outside hitter Mary Kate Glowe helped Ashland to a pair of GLIAC road victories this past weekend. In a 3-0 triumph over Gannon on Friday, she tallied 12 kills and 10 digs while posting a .440 hitting percentage. In the 3-0 win over Mercyhurst on Saturday, Glowe recorded 15 kills, 11 digs, and three aces while hitting .235. For the week she averaged 4.50 kills per game, a .303 hitting percentage, 3.50 digs per game and 5.33 points per game. Glowe currently ranks third in the GLIAC, averaging 4.56 kills per game this campaign, while ranking fifth in the league in points per game with 5.10.
