Junior middle blocker Danielle Alexander helped Grand Valley State remain the lone undefeated team in the GLIAC North Division. She averaged 3.50 kills, 1.62 blocks, and 0.38 digs and a .471 hitting percentage in the two Laker wins. Alexander tallied 13 kills and three assisted blocks, while hitting .550 as GVSU swept Findlay, 3-0, on Friday. On Saturday, Danielle recorded 15 kills, three digs, one solo and a career-high nine assisted blocks, while hitting .419 as the Lakers knocked off #13 Ashland, 3-2. Her 1.21 blocks per game is third best in the GLIAC and her.349 hitting percentage this season ranks fifth best.
Senior outside hitter Melissa Bartlett helped the Chargers stay perfect in GLIAC play with wins over Gannon (3-0) and Mercyhurst (3-1) in Erie, Pa. Bartlett averaged 6.6 kills per game, well above her conference-leading average of 5.3 for the season. Saturday against Mercyhurst, Bartlett had 27 kills, the second-highest total for a single match this season. She has recorded 20 or more kills in four straight matches, and her 369 kills for the season is already the sixth-most in Charger history. Bartlett currenlty leads the GLIAC in kills and points (5.96 per game), while helping Hillsdale lead the league in kills (15.93 per game).
