Senior outside hitter Lana Sorokina was named Most Valuable Player at the Findlay Invitational, an event which Northwood claimed thanks to going 4-0. She averaged 5.18 kills and 6.06 points per game, finishing with at least 15 kills in all four matches. Sorokina hit .264 for the week while tallying 11 aces (0.65 per game) and 41 digs (2.41 per game). In Northwood’s victory over No. 6 Truman State, Sorokina finished with 26 kills and just six errors in 53 attempts (.377). She also added 14 digs against TSU. For the season, Sorokina is averaging 5.14 kills per game to go with 6.07 points.

Senior outside hitter Melissa Bartlett put together a strong showing at the Towne Place Suites Classic in Findlay, Ohio over the weekend, leading Hillsdale to a 3-1 record. Bartlett was named to the All-Tournament team after recording 70 kills in the four matches, highlighted by a Charger-career high 29 vs. No. 6 Truman State (Mo.). For the week, Bartlett averaged more than five kills per game, and had a total hitting percentage of .406. She was also strong defensively, picking up a total of 45 digs in the four matches for Hillsdale, who is now 7-2 on the season.
