Junior middle blocker Danielle Alexander averaged 4.83 kills and hit .549 as Grand Valley State ended the regular season with two GLIAC wins. She posted 18 kills, three assists blocks and hit .621 as GVSU knocked off Northwood, 3-0, on Friday night. Alexander then added 11 kills, two digs, a solo block, and a .455 hitting percentage in the Lakers 3-0 sweep of Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. In 51 total attacks, Danielle recorded 29 kills and just one error in the two matches. Alexander’s .357 hitting percentage this season ranks third best in the GLIAC..

Hillsdale College senior outside hitter Melissa Bartlett stepped up to deliver two outstanding matches that helped the Chargers clinch their second straight GLIAC South Division title. She posted 21 kills in each match, with a weekend attack percentage of .324. She also had 17 digs in Saturday’s win at No. 9 Ashland, and had four service aces in each game. Bartlett continues to lead the GLIAC in kills (5.36 per game), while ranking ninth in hitting percentage (.309). She had tallied the second-most kills in a single-season in Charger history (563), while recording at least 10 kills in every match this season.
