Lana Sorokina - Northwood

Senior outside hitter Lana Sorokina led Northwood to a 4-0 record at the Ferris State Invitational, averaging 5.09 kills per game while hitting .333. She had 12 kills and a .375 attack percentage in the opener versus Saint Cloud State. She then had 22 kills and just four errors on 44 attempts (.409 attack percentage) in a 3-0 sweep of West Virginia State. Sorokina then finished the weekend with 13 kills and a .321 attack percentage against West Virginia Wesleyan. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the end of the event. Northwood posted 3-0 sweeps in all four matches it played in.

Senior setter Lynsey Warren led Ashland to a 3-1 mark at the North Alabama Invitational last weekend. Warren averaged 11.79 assists as the Eagles tallied a .262 hitting percentage in the four matches. She posted 55 assists, five kills in six attempts (.833 hitting percentage), nine digs, and four blocks as Ashland avenged its loss in the 2006 NCAA Elite Eight Tournament to North Alabama, posting a 3-1 victory. Warren recorded 46 assists, four blocks, four digs, and three aces in a 3-1 triumph over Tusculum (Tenn.). She averaged 1.36 digs, .93 kills, .86 blocks and .43 aces over the four matches.
