Northwood freshman Darina Berkova took home the singles title from the Wilson/ITA Great Lakes Regional. Berkova, in just her second event at NU, won her first three matches in singles in straight sets. She then posted a three-set win over the No. 2 seed, Mouna Sabri of Drury University (Mo.) in the quarterfinals. After defeating Allison Schmitz of Lewis University (Ill.) in the semifinals, Berkova defeated Laure Piquemal of Drury in the finals by the scores of 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5). Berkova is now qualified for the Wilson/ITA National Championships, Oct. 12-14 in Florida
