Katie Kraai - Ferris State

Senior Katie Kraai helped Ferris State clinch the number two seed in the GLIAC Tournament last week as she batted .400 while posting eight runs-batted-in. She recorded the game-winning hit in the Bulldogs’ 1-0 extra-inning conference victory over Wayne State with a 10th inning RBI single. She then drove in four runs in FSU’s 5-0 league triumph over Hillsdale with going three-for-three at the plate. Kraai hit safely in five of the team’s final six games which included a pair of multiple-hit games against the Chargers.

Sophomore pitcher Alicia Brandenburg earned all of Northwood’s six wins in the circle last week helping the Timberwolves clinch a spot in the GLIAC Tournament next weekend. She posted a 1.37 earned-run-average, while striking out 25 batters in 35 2/3 innings of work. Brandenburg’s week was highlighted by a one-hit, four strikeout performance that she threw against Mercyhurst. She is currently on a seven-game winning streak which includes victories over Ferris State and Tiffin in non-GLIAC play.
