FSU senior MF Kristie Smilanich played 44 minutes in the Bulldogs’ two matches and registered a .692 shots on goal percentage with nine shots on net. She tallied three goals and added two assists in Ferris State’s 6-1 season-opening non-conference win at Kentucky Wesleyan (8/24) and then accounted for the Bulldogs’ lone marker in a 2-1 non-league setback at Bellarmine (8/26). Smilanich, who holds the distinction of being FSU’s first All-American in women’s soccer after receiving Daktronics NCAA-II All-America First-Team recognition a season ago, has presently accumulated 77 career points in 56 matches.
