Eagles
     The Eagles went 1-2 over the week, winning at Davis and Elkins and losing two GLIAC contests at home to Ferris State and Grand Valley State... Freshman Dani Lamb (Canton, OH/Jackson) tallied the first two goals against Davis and Elkins, her third and fourth goals of the year... Newcomer Hannah Brown (Massillon, OH/Jackson) provided some insurance and recorded her first collegiate goal in the 84th minute against Davis and Elkins... Senior goalkeeper Marie Supanich (Sebastopol, CA/Santa Rosa Junior College) recorded 7 saves for her fourth shutout of the season. Sophomore forward Kelly Usher (Ashland, OH) cut Ferris State’s lead in half midway through the second stanza with her team-leading 6th goal of the year.

     Junior forward Tammy Unsworth (White Lake/Walled Lake Northern), who has presently compiled 54 career points (20-14=54) in 46 matches, moved into fifth place among FSU’s points leaders with five points (2-1=5) in the squad’s three matches. Unsworth is within five points of tying Lindsey Pawloski (2002-05) and Lisa O’Brian (2002-05) for third place on the all-time charts... Senior forward Heather O’Keefe (Ada/Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central) has recorded at least a point in eight of the Bulldogs’ 10 matches this season and had her four-match scoring streak snapped at Findlay (9/30) ... Senior midfielder Kristie Smilanich (Kalamazoo/Christian) is seven points shy from registering her 100th career point and would join Emily Rogers (2000-03; 119 pts.) as the only two individuals in FSU history to accomplish the feat. Smilanich presently has 93 career points (37-19=93) in 64 matches, which includes a team-leading 26 points (10-6=26) in 10 matches this fall.

     The Oilers split a pair of GLIAC games last week, losing 9-1 to top ranked Grand Valley State and winning 3-0 over Ferris State…Junior Ali Cariglio scored the lone goal against Grand Valley State and added two assists against Ferris State…She now leads the team with 16 total points.

Golden Knights

     GU dropped a pair of 1-0 decisions to Northern Michigan and Clarion last weekend … the Lady Knights have been shut out in three consecutive matches despite out-shooting their opponent in two of those matches … Gannon out-shot Clarion 20-8, but fell 1-0 … Tiffani Parks (Russellton, Pa./Deer Lakes) made six saves against NMU and Holly Johnson (Welland, Ontario/Notre Dame) turned away three shots at Clarion, but both suffered hard-luck 1-0 losses … the Lady Knights are 4-1 at home and 3-3-1 on the road.

     Grand Valley State remains ranked #1 in the NSCAA poll after defeating St. Joseph’s (Ind.) (3-1), Findlay (9-1) and Ashland (8-0)…Junior forward Ashley Elsass (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) set an NCAA Div. II record against Findlay on Friday, scoring three consecutive goals in 1:09, which is 1:11 faster than the previous record of 2:20…As of Sept. 23, junior forward Katy Tafler (Mississauga, Ont./Cawthra Park) ranked third in Div. II in both points per game (3.57) and goals per game (1.429) …Tafler also ranked 17th in assists per game, notching 0.71 per game…Also as of Sept. 23, junior goalkeeper Kristina Nasturzio (Mississauga, Ont./Cawthra Park) ranked fourth in the nation in goals-against average (0.155) and sixth in the nation in save percentage (0.933)…The Lakers won their first-ever game in Ashland on Sunday, downing the Eagles by an 8-0 margin…Freshman forwards Kylee Merino (Belvidere, Ill./Boyland Catholic Central) and Erika Pitroff (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) both scored their first collegiate goals this weekend.

     MC went 2-0 this weekend by defeating Pitt-Johnstown 6-0 and Northern Michigan 1-0…The Lakers are now on nine game undefeated streak and are 3-0 in the GLIAC…Senior Adrienne Sluga led the Lakers this weekend with one goal and one assists against Pitt-Johnstown and the game winning goal against Northern Michigan…Sluga has three game winning goals this season and 15 points this season…Junior Rebecca Heintzman earned two more shutouts, bringing her season total to seven…The Lakers have not allowed a goal in 360 minutes.

Wildcats
     The Wildcats split on its Erie, Pa. swing last week…NMU defeated Gannon (1-0) and lost to Mercyhurst (0-1) … NMU has played in nine shutout games this season, the ‘Cats are 6-2-1 in those games…Kara Music has recorded two of the shutouts for the ‘Cats…Music for the season has a 0.70 goal-against average and a .868 save-percentage…Kari Buckel scored the lone goal for the ‘Cats in Erie as she now has four on the season, which ranks her second on the team behind Renee LeBlanc with six…NMU will face Cardinal Stritch in a non-conference affair on Sunday for its only action of the week…NMU has scored 15 of its 24 goals in the first half.

Timberwolves
    NU dropped a 2-0 match to Spring Arbor Friday evening (Sept. 28) … Northwood falls to 1-8 on the year, while Spring Arbor stands at 9-0-2 … Spring Arbor’s depth showed in the second half, as the Cougars out-shot the Timberwolves 12-0 after the break. Spring Arbor scored at 46:33 and 85:52 to earn the victory … Keeper Emily Pierce (Clarkston, Mich.) finished with seven saves in the game, including a spectacular diving stop off a set piece … Northwood’s scheduled game against Albion set for Monday has been postponed … no makeup date has been announced as of yet.

Cardinals
     The Cardinals went 1-1 in their weekend trip to Indianapolis against Missouri-St. Louis and Missouri-Rolla....Junior Forward Tammie Edmunds (Shelby Twp., Mich./Utica Eisenhower) led SVSU with two goals last week....Junior forward Kim Oberski (Port Huron, Mich.) scored her team high seventh goal on the season in the Cardinal’s 3-0 win over Missouri-Rolla....Junior midfielder Stephanie Roy (Royal Oak, Mich./Dondero) scored her fifth goal of the season just 33 seconds into the match against Missouri-Rolla....Roy’s goal was the earliest goal the Cardinals have scored in any match this year....Roy also added an assist against Missouri-St.Louis to bring her point total to 14 for the year....Oberski leads the Cardinals in points with 15.
