Eagles
The Eagles won their only match of the week; a 4-0 decision over GLVC foe Saint Joseph’s. Sophomore forward Casey Snyder (Tecumseh, MI) started the scoring in the 17th minute, off an assist from freshman midfielder Alicia Van Zanten (Hudson, OH). It was her team-leading fifth goal. Fellow sophomore forward Kelly Usher (Ashland, OH) tied Snyder for the team lead in goals, with her fifth marker, which came in the 40th minute. Freshman Dani Lamb (Canton, OH/Jackson) netted her second goal of the year right before halftime. Van Zanten provided enough cushion with a goal late in the second half; it was her second tally of the season. Senior goalkeeper Marie Supanich (Sebastopol, CA/Santa Rosa Junior College) recorded eight saves for her third shutout of the season. Bulldogs
Senior forward Heather O’Keefe (Ada/Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central) has scored a goal in five of her seven matches this season, including her last two to date. O’Keefe’s seven markers in seven matches this campaign already represents a career single-season high, eclipsing her six goals set in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons. O’Keefe’s 49 career points total is currently tied for fifth place on FSU’s career points leaders list with junior forward Tammy Unsworth (White Lake/Walled Lake Northern)... Tammy Unsworth recorded her 13th career assist at Calvin last Wednesday (9/19) and is one shy of moving into a third-place tie with Kristin Aukeman (2002-05) among the Bulldogs’ all-time leaders. Unsworth compiled a career season-best 30 points (12-6=30) in 18 matches a season ago.
