Gannon University junior Jess Slonaker captured her first individual title of the spring season, overcaming a four-stroke deficit on the final day to win the Ashland University Huntington Bank Invitational individual title by one stroke over the University of Dayton’s Katie Dempsey. Dayton is a Division I program. Slonaker was tied for fourth place with an 81 after the first round, but shot a 78 during Sunday’s final round for a two-day total of 159. She helped the Lady Knights finish sixth out of 10 teams with a two-day score of 695, posting team rounds of 347 and 348.
