Eagles
  AU head coach Pam Leonard received some good news last week when she received a commitment from Erin Misheff of Walsh Jesuit High School (OH). In the fall, Misheff led Walsh Jesuit to a Division I state title. She was a team captain and placed seventh at the state championships. Misheff was named to the All-Ohio team.

  FSU finished in fourth place overall as the Bulldogs wrapped up action in the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Monday (April 14) at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind... Ferris shot a two-round total of 628 with idential 314 team scores in each round of the two-day event. The host Cardinals claimed the team championship with a 620 total while Longwood University was second (624) and Grand Valley State placed third (626) in the 12-team field on the par 71 course measuring 5,909 yards. Bulldog juniors Alison Meyer (Duluth,Minn./Central) and Meghan Hunter (Dexter) led the way for FSU as both finished tied for seventh place overall with 155 totals. Meyer carded rounds of 79 and 76 while Hunter posted scores of 75 and 80 in the two rounds, respectively. Seniors Becky Hoffman (Gaines/Swartz Creek) and Missy Ward (Fenton/Linden) both placed tied for 17th in individually with a score of 159 for the Bulldogs. Hoffman fired an 81 and a 78 in the competition... Meanwhile, Ward shot a final-round total of 80 after scoring a 79 in the opening round... Ferris State will next compete in the GLIAC Championships on Sunday and Monday (April 20-21) in Findlay, Ohio.

  The University of Findlay women’s golf team completed the Cardinal Classic on Monday, April 14 at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana. The Oilers finished 11th at the event with a two-day score of 678 (351, 327)... Individually, Kristy Homan led the way with a 162 (84, 78) which was good for 30th at the event... Stephanie Gillette (88, 76 – 164), Andrea Vogt (87, 89 – 176), Alyssa Nigro (92, 84 – 176) and Erin Craig (95, 89 – 184) also competed for Findlay during the Cardinal Classic... The Oilers will be back in action again on April 20-21 when they host the 2008 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship at the Sycamore Spring Golf Course in Arlington, Ohio.

   The Gannon women’s golf team was idle last week after withdrawing from the California (Pa.) Invitational on April 13-14. The Lady Knights return to action April 20-21 at the GLIAC Championships.

Lakers
   Grand Valley State finished at third overall at the Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Ind. after shooting a 310 in day two. Ashley Smith shot a meet-best 71 on day two to charge to second place overall and help the Lakers to the third-place finish...Smith’s 71 on day two, combined with a 78 on day one, gave her a 149 overall, just one back of first place. Kristina Langton and Caitlin Bennett tied for 20th place at the meet with scores of 160. Tracey Puckering started strong on day one with a 78 and ended in 27th place at 161. Allie Tyler was tied with her after shooting a 79 on day two.

Timberwolves
   The Lady Timberwolves tied for Fifth at the Vulcan Invitational hosted by the Univesity of California, Pennsylvania... NU was led by Paige Molnar and Lotte Voermans who each tallied two-round totals of 174 (+30) to tie for 14th place... Northwood will next compete in the GLIAC Championships on Sunday and Monday (April 20-21) in Findlay, Ohio.
