Eagles
  Did not Compete last week...The Eagles placed 10th at the Ferris State Invitiational on Sept. 1 & 2 at the Katke Golf Course on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich... AU was led by freshman Annie Miles (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) who placed 23rd with a two-round total of 161 (80-81) ... Ashland finished 12th at the Grand Valley State Invitiational held at the Meadows Golf Course on the campus of GVSU in Allendale, Mich... The Eagles were again led by Miles who carded a pair of 79s for a 158 total and a tie for 18th place.

Bulldogs
  Ferris State turned in an eighth-place showing at the 10-team Michigan State Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 8-9) in East Lansing, Mich., with a 54-hole 947 team score (+83). The Bulldogs recorded rounds of 315, 310 and 322 on the par 72, 6,316-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course and finished 17 strokes in back of seventh-place Illinois (930, +66)... Senior Becky Hoffman (Gaines/Swartz Creek) paced the Bulldogs with a 26th-place tying 233 score (80-74-79=233). Senior Missy Ward (Fenton/Linden) along with juniors Alison Meyer (Duluth, Minn./Central) and Meghan Hunter (Dexter) registered 236-stroke totals. Ward (78-76-82=236), Meyer (75-80-81=236), and Hunter (78-76-82=236), who competed in a non-scoring role, all tied for 32nd-place honors...Becky Hoffman currently leads Ferris State with a 77.29 average (541 total strokes) in seven rounds this fall...The Bulldogs will be in action this weekend (Sept. 21-22) at the Olivet Invitational, which will be held at the Marshall (Mich.) Country Club..

  The Oilers won the Jon P. Speiss Memorial Tournament and finished 11th at Grand Valley State during the week…At the Speiss Tournament, freshman Andrea Vogt took home medalist honors after firing an 81…It was the first win of her career.

Gannon University
Golden Knights
  The Gannon women’s golf team opened its 2007 fall season with an eighth-place finish September 9-10 at the Youngstown State Invitational. Seven of the nine entries were Division I schools. Gannon finished eighth with a two-day total of 680. The Lady Knights recorded a 352 on Sunday, before cutting 24 strokes off their score with a 328 during Monday’s final round. Jess Slonaker (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) was Gannon’s top golfer. The junior tied for 11th place with a two-day total of 160. She was tied for 19th after shooting an 83 during the first round, but improved eight places with a 77 on Monday. Amanda Eckhart (T30th, 89-80-169), Whitney Burkett (T38th, 90-84-174), Allyssa Ferriell (43rd, 90-87-177), Tarin Fedrizzi (T51st, 93-92-185), and Brooke Pyle (56th, 100-90-190) also competed for the Lady Knights. Gannon returns to action September 22-23 at the Mercyhurst Invitational at Lake View Country Club.

Lakers
  Grand Valley State tallied a three round score of 950 at the Mary Fossum Invitational to tie for ninth place overall...The Lakers recorded a 321 and 312 in the first two rounds on Saturday and fired a 317 in the final round on Sunday...GVSU was one of just two Division II schools in the field, while the other eight teams were from Division I schools...Sophomore Caitlin Bennett finished first for the Lakers and tied for 16th overall...She posted a three round score of 229, as she recorded a 77, 74, and 78...Freshman Allie Tyler tied for 38th place and she tallied a 238 (79, 81, 78), while freshman Kristina Langton shot a 240 (81, 79, 80), which tied her for 43rd placae overall...Senior Tracey Puckering had a 245 (84, 80, 81), tying her for 51st place and sophomore Caitlin Duval tied for 54th place as she shot a 249 (85, 79, 85)...The Lakers will next play at the Northwood Invite in Midland, Mich. on Sept. 28-29.

  The women’s golf team placed ninth at the Youngstown State Invitational Saturday and Sunday…The Lakers shot a 363 on day one and then improved 21 strokes on day two for a 342…Caitlin Cummings finished 36th in the individual standings with a 86-87 for a 173 two-round total…Mercyhurst will compete next in the Penn State Behrend Invitational September 20.

Timberwolves
   Did not compete last week...The Northwood University women’s golf team placed 13th at the Laker Fall Classic Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 4)... The Timberwolves shot team scores of 348 and 344 to finish at 692. Host Grand Valley was the overall winner at 608, followed by Indianapolis at 615... Leading the way for Northwood was sophomore Paige Molnar (Corunna, Mich.), who tied for 21st with rounds of 80 and 79. Sophomore Lotte Voermans (Tilburg, Netherlands) shot 82 and 83 to finish in a tie for 38th... Northwood picked up a 13th place finish at the Ferris State Invitational on Sunday. NU tallied a two-round score of 697 (352-345) and were led by Voermans who carded scores of 81 and 76 for a 157 total...The Timberwolves are back in action at Southern Indiana Sept. 23-24.
