Ferris State senior forward/center Rachel Folcik led the Bulldogs to their sixth consecutive victory of the season with an 85-76 league road win over Lake Superior State on Saturday (Dec.15). The 6-1 Folcik posted a game-high 26 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals and a blocked shot in the victory. She made eight-of-13 (.615) field goal attempts and hit 10-of-11 (.909) free throws in recording her fifth double-double effort of the campaign. This is Folcik’s second GLIAC Player of the Week honor this season.
Junior guard Brittany Wells led the Oilers to their first GLIAC win of the season over Michigan Tech by scoring 22 points to go along with five steals, four assists and three rebound. Wells hit 3-of-6 shots from the field, was 2-of-2 from the three point line and canned a school record 14-of-14 free throw attempts in the win. Her 14 makes at the charity stripe gives her the school record for making the most free throws in a game without missing an attemp. Wells is currently leading the Oilers at 14.1 points per game and is averaging a team-high 3.0 steals per game.
