Sophomore forward Jodi Ostergren averged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last week as she helped the Timberwolves to a pair of road victories and a share of the GLIAC North Division lead. This marks the first time in program history in which Northwood swept their Upper Peninsula road trip. Against Northern Michigan, Ostergren scored 17 of her 19 points in the second half to lead Northwood to a 72-71 overtime victory. She then led all scorers with 20 points as the Timberwolves defeated #24 Michigan Tech on Saturday.
Hillsdale forward Katie Cezat set a single-season school record for blocked shots last week as she tallied four rejections during the two games. Her season total now stands at 33, four better than the previous record. For the week, Cezat averaged 29 points and 12 rebounds per game as the Chargers extended their winning streak to nine games. The record setting game came against Ferris State, where she recorded three blocked shots to go along with 28 points and 11 boards. On Saturday, she scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win.
