Saginaw Valley State forward Brittany Burkhardt averaged 20 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last week against Gannon and Mercyhurst. Burkhardt scored a career high 26 points going 9-12 from the field and 8-8 from the line, while also adding nine rebounds in the Cardinals 91-72 win over Mercyhurst. Burkhardt recorded her second career double-double Thursday night against Gannon, scoring 14 points and snaring ten boards. For the week, Burkhardt went 12-21 from the floor and 15-16 from the free throw line.
Junior forward Katie Cezat took her game to a whole new level last week in leading the Chargers to home wins over Grand Valley and Wayne State. She scored a then-career-high 34 points to lead Hillsdale to its first win over Grand Valley in five years. She improved upon that performance Saturday, setting a single-game school record with 42 points in the team’s 67-64 win over Wayne State. For the weekend, Cezat averaged 38 points and 14 rebounds per game, while shooting 67 percent from the field.
