Jenna Guay - Ferris State

Junior forward/center Jenna Guay helped the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish in the season-opening Quincy (Ill.) Subway Tipoff Tourney. Guay netted a career-high 21 points and grabbed five rebounds in FSU’s 93-71 loss to nationally fifth-ranked Delta State (Miss.) in Saturday’s tournament championship game. She posted 12 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 87-82 opening game win Friday over the host Hawks. Guay, who was FSU’s lone player named to the all-tournament team, converted 13-of-19 (.684) field goal attempts and 7-of-10 (.700) free throws in the two games.

Junior forward Katie Cezat made her first two career starts productive ones, averaging 22 points in 28.5 minutes played for the Chargers last weekend, leading the team to two straight wins. Cezat was named the Wolf Bus Lines Tournament MVP in helping Hillsdale to wins over West Virginia Weslyan (66-55) and host Shippensburg (66-49). Cezat scored a career-high 26 points in Friday’s win, and grabed nine rebounds in each of the first two games. She shot 63 percent from the field for the weekend, and had a total of four steals and shot 80 percent from the free throw line.
