GVSU Finishes Third in the Final 2008 Bison / AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll
Lexington, Ky. -- The Grand Valley State University volleyball team finished at number three in in the final 2008 Bison/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Lakers, who claimed the NCAA D-II Midwest Region title, fell to eventual national champion Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) in the D-II semifinals. GVSU ended the season with a 33-4 record.
The only other GLIAC team to earn a place in the final D-II ranking of 2008 was Saginaw Valley State University. The Cardinals, who posted a 25-8 mark this season, lost to GVSU in both the GLIAC and Midwest Region Tournament championship matches.
