GLIAC Teams Earn Rankings in CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll
Lexington, Ky.-- Three teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) were listed in the latest CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Grand Valley State University dropped one place to seventh in the poll. The Lakers went 3-1 to open the 2008 season at the Missouri S&T "Middle of Everywhere" Classic in Rolla, Mo. GVSU posted victories over Southern Indiana, North Alabama, and #12 Pittsburg State (Kan.), while dropping a decision to #3 Truman State (Mo.).
Hillsdale College rose from 17th to 11th in this week's poll after going 3-1 at the Ferris State University Invitational. The Chargers recorded wins over Mercyhurst (Pa.), Indiana (Pa.), and Urbana (Ohio). The lone loss came to #8 Minnesota-Duluth.
Ashland University fell two placed to #23 in the poll after a 2-2 start at the University of Tampa Classic. The Eagles defeated #10 Florida Southern and Central Oklahoma, but were beaten by #5 Tampa and St. Leo (Fla.).
