54 Female GLIAC Student-Athletes Earn 2011 Division II All-Academic Status for Track & Field
NEW ORLEANS -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the women’s 2011 Division II All-Academic Track & Field team. A total of 311 student-athletes representing 80 institutions compose the group.

Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member Grand Valley State led all squads with 20 team members named to the All-Academic list. Slippery Rock followed with 11 nods. In third place, Shippensburg, Ashland, Southern Connecticut, and Western State checked in with nine honorees.
NCAA champions Lindsay Lettow (Central Missouri), Monica Kinney (Grand Valley State), Barbara Szabo (Western State), Andria Nussey (Angelo State), Christa Bergmann (Fort Hays State), Lauren Stelten (Minnesota State), Cassie Mitchell (Adams State), Shermaine Williams (Johnson C. Smith), Monika Gruszecki (Western Washington), and Neely Spence (Shippensburg) joined Gagne and Grant on the All-Academic list.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark in an individual or relay event at some point in either indoor or outdoor seasons.
