GVSU's Kinney and TU's Gill Named GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field "Athletes of the Week", Respectively

Bay City, Mich. -- Grand Valley's Monica Kinney (Walker, Mich./West Catholic) and Tiffin's Megan Gill (Clyde, Ohio) have been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field "Athletes of the Week", respectively as announced by the league office.

Monica Kinney - GVSU Track Athlete of the Week
Monica Kinney ~ Grand Valley State University
Freshman ~ Walker, Mich./West Catholic
Freshman Monica Kinney finished in second place of the Section I 1500-meter run at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday, March 28. Her time of 4:27.57 was less than one second behind first place and hit the automatically qualifying mark for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Megan Gill - TU Field Athlete of the Week
Megan Gill ~ Tiffin University
Freshman ~ Clyde, Ohio
Freshman Megan Gill enjoyed a record-setting day at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at the University of Cincinnati last weekend. The Lady Dragons finished seventh. Gill broke her own school record in the high jump and finished second in the field. Gill cleared the bar at 1.63m (5-4.25) to accomplish this feat.
