UF's Clay and TU's Ameling Named GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field "Athletes of the Week", Respectively

Bay City, Mich. -- Findlay's Raven Clay (Detroit, Mich.) and Tiffin's Kristen Ameling (Milbury, Ohio) have been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field "Athletes of the Week", respectively as announced by the league office.
Track Athlete of the Week
Raven Clay ~ University of Findlay
Freshman ~ Detroit, Mich./Frank Cody
Freshman Raven Clay finished third in the 100 meter
hurdles with a time of 14.09 and took fifth in the 100 meter dash
at 12.50 at the Wake Forest University Open in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina. At the NCAA DII National Championship Clay took fourth in
the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.49.
Field Athlete of the Week
Kristen Ameling ~ Tiffin University
Senior ~ Milbury, Ohio
Senior All-American Kristen Ameling carried her momentum
from indoor to open the season with a national qualifying
performance and a tie of her own school record. Ameling clutched
first place in the shot put with a toss of 13.50m, good for the
third best throw in NCAA Division II.
