GLIAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Teams Set to Participate at NCAA DII Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced the participants for the 2011 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. A total of 400 participants will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event. The championships will be held March 11-12 in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Adams State College and the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau will serve as co-hosts of the championships.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) will be well represented this week in Alburquerque. The seven GLIAC women teams competing are, Ashland, Ferris State, Findlay, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale College, Northern Michigan, and Northwood.

Last year, four GLIAC teams finsihed in the top 30 for in the women's championship.  Those teams were Ashland (t-2nd), Grand Valley State (t-2nd), Findlay (20th), and Hillsdale (23rd).
