Tournament
Format
The GLIAC Women’s Tennis Championship will be an eight-team,
three-round tournament.
The first round of the tournament will start at 6:45 p.m. on
Friday (Oct. 26), with warm-up on courts beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The second round of the tournament will be played at 3:45 p.m. on
Saturday (Oct. 27) afternoon.
The final round of the tournament will start at 9:30 a.m. on
Sunday (Oct. 28), with warm-up on courts beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Draw
The top eight teams based on regular season conference winning percentage will compete in the tournament. 1 vs. 8 and 4 vs. 5 in top of draw. 3 vs. 6 and 2 vs. 7 on bottom of draw.

Order of Play: 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6
Match 1: #1 Northwood vs. #8 Ohio Dominican
Match 2: #4 Ashland vs. #5 Ferris State
Match 3: #2 Wayne State vs. #7 Saginaw Valley State
Match 4: #3 Grand Valley State vs. #6 Hillsdale
Second Round - Saturday, Oct. 23 – 3:45 p.m.
Order of Play: 1, 3, 4, 6, 2, 5
Match 5: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2
Match 6: Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4
Match 7: Loser of Match 1 vs. Loser of Match 2
Match 8: Loser of Match 3 vs. Loser of Match 4
Final Round - Sunday, Oct. 24 - 9:30 a.m.
Order of Play: 2, 4, 5, 6, 1, 3
Match 9 (1st-Place Match): Winner of Match 5 vs. Winner of Match 6

Athletic Training Staff
Jennifer Brantsen (jennifer.brantsen@gmail.com) will serve as our Certified Athletic Trainer and will be available at MCTC throughout the tournament. The trainer will be at the facility at the following times:
Friday – 5:00 pm
Saturday – 2:30 pm
Sunday – 8:00 am
Modalities will not be available. Ice will be available.
Coaches should bring enough athletic tape as necessary to tape their own student-athletes throughout the tournament.
Awards
Ceremony
There will be a short awards ceremony at the MCTC following the
completion of the last match on Sunday.
GLIAC Championship and GLIAC Tournament trophies will be awarded,
and the 2012 All-GLIAC Women’s Tennis Teams will be
announced.

The GLIAC Office will be providing four cases of Wilson U.S. Open
tennis balls.
