DETROIT -- Former Wayne State University
swimmer Ashley St.
Andrew was featured in a recent television
interview.
St. Andrew plans to embark on a swim from Two Rivers, Wisc. to
Ludington (Mich.) State Park, a 50-mile stretch across the
mid-section of Lake Michigan.
The event is scheduled for the second week of August.
If she is able to battle the elements of the beautiful, yet
treacherous water, St. Andrew will become the first female to ever
swim across the lake's mid-section and the first American female to
swim the lake at any point.
"Ashley's
Swim for Cancer" is raising money for the Saint Mary's Doran
Foundation -- in connection with The Lacks Cancer Center at Saint
Mary's Health Care in Grand Rapids.
St. Andrew is a Jenison High School graduate and currently attends
Wayne State University.
