Grand Valley State's Karen Verbrugge Named GLIAC Swimming & Diving "Athlete of the Week"

Bay City, Mich.--Grand Valley State's Karen Verbrugge (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving athlete of the week as announced by the league office.

  Grand Valley State sophomore diver Karen Verbrugge has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Diver of the Week by the league office. Verbrugge claimed two first-place finishes and hit the NCAA qualifying standard at Calvin College. She tallied a score of 28.25 on the 1-meter board, followed by a 272.10 score on the 3-meter board.
