Six GLIAC Student-Athletes Named to the 2011 NSCAA Women's Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team

Kansas City, Kan. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) had six student-athletes named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Midwest Region First Team. Overall there were 14 GLIAC student-athletes that earned a place on one of the three NSCAA All-Midwest Region Teams.

The first team includes Grand Valley State University teammates Chelsea Parise (Keeper), Megan Brown (Defender), Alyssa Mira (Midfielder), Erin Mruz (Midfielder), Kayla Addison (Forward), and Ashley Botts (Forward). 

The second team is comprised of four GLIAC student-athletes in Ohio Dominican University teammates Tonya Frasik (Midfielder), and Jennifer Holton (Midfielder), Ferris State University's Bri Borgman (Forward), and Northwood University's Amanda Watson (Forward).

There were four student-athletes representing the GLIAC on the third team in Ferris State's Kasey Ruimveld (Defender), Northern Michigan University's Rebekah Schmidt (Defender), Ohio Dominican's Megan Wharton (Defender), and Tiffin University's Michelle Rogers (Forward).

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America is the largest soccer coaches' organization in the world. Since its founding in 1941, the NSCAA has grown to include more than 30,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year. The NSCAA fulfills its mission of coaching education through a nationwide program of clinics and week-long courses, teaching more than 6,000 soccer coaches each year.
