Five GLIAC Student-Athletes Named to the ESPN The Magazine 2010 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team

The 2011 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Teams for men's and women's soccer were announced today (November 2) by the Academic All-America® Committee. A total of nine Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) student-athletes earned Academic All-District honors.
Four GLIAC students earned First Team Academic All-District status, including: Lake Erie College senior Taylor Yurick (Olmsted Falls, Ohio); Ashland University senior Alicia VanZanten (Hudson, Ohio); Grand Valley State University senior Kristen Eible (DeWitt, Mich.) and GVSU sophomore Ashley Botts (Beloit, Wis.).
GVSU sophomore Chelsea Parise (Warren, Mich.) and Tiffin University junior Michelle Rogers (Shelby Twp., Mich.) were name to the Academic All-Distrtict second team.
Saginaw Valley State University sophomore Tiffany Bell (Troy, Mich.); Ferris State University junior Bri Borgman (Holland, Mich.); and Northern Michigan University sophomore Amelia Johnson (St. Michael, Minn.) earned third team Academic All-District accolades.
Three Academic All-District teams are chosen in each district, with those on the All-District first teams placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
