On Saturday (Dec. 6), the Eagles lost their first game of the season, in a 72-63 defeat at home against Grand Valley State. Ashland now sits with a record of 5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. In the game against Ferris, The Eagles held a 90-89 advantage with 28 seconds left and the ball. FSU tried to steal the ball instead of fouling right away, but ended up putting senior Lynsey Warren at the line with five seconds remaining on the clock. Warren calmly went to the charity stripe, where she came into the game shooting 65%, and knocked down both free throws to gain a 92-89 advantage. The Bulldogs pushed the ball up the court quickly in attempt to put the game into overtime with a three-ball. Becci Houdek received the ball at the top of the key and hoisted the three with one second left.
