Hillsdale's Katie Cezat Appears in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" Section
Hillsdale College senior Katie Cezat appears in this week's
edition of Sports Illustrated in the magazine's "Faces in the
Crowd" section.
Cezat is the second Hillsdale College athlete to appear in the
magazine in the two years. Former All-American volleyball player
Taryn Rudland also appeared in the same section in the Oct. 2, 2006
edition.
Cezat currently plays for the seventh-ranked Charger women's
basketball team, who is 14-2 on the season. Cezat ranks first in
the nation in rebounding and blocked shots, and is second in the
nation in scoring.
She was recognized in the magazine for her triple-double on Dec.
13, when she hade 36 points, 20 rebounds and 13 blocks against
Ferris State. In 2007-08, Cezat was named First-Team All-American
and was the GLIAC and Great Lakes Regional Player of the Year. She
was named the GLIAC Preseason Player of the Year for 2008-09, and
currently averages 26 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots
per game.
