Nine GLIAC Student-Athletes Named to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team
BAY CITY, Mich. - The 2011 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District Teams for softball were announced by the Academic All-America® Committee. Nine Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) student-athletes earned Academic All-District honors. The GLIAC student-athletes earning this award are:
First Team

Alison Allen Junior Outfielder Wayne State University
Angela Comer Senior Designated Player Northwood University
Second Team
Jade Fulton Senior Pitcher Saginaw Valley State University

Third Team
Tiffany Smith Senior Infielder Tiffin University
Briauna Taylor Sophomore Infielder Grand Valley State University
Jennifer Baker Senior Outfielder Ohio Dominican University
The 2011 Capital One Academic All-District ® Softball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance on the diamond and in the classroom.
The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the national Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
