Special Events Highlight Upcoming Softball Weekend for Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Dominican's softball team welcomes Ashland to Panther Field on April 9-10 for a four-game conference set, but the action on the field will not be the only highlights of the weekend as the Panthers and Eagles celebrate Friends of Jaclyn Week on Saturday and ODU's seniors are recognized on Sunday's annual Senior Day game.

As a significant supporter of the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families, ODU will recognize its honorary team member, Reagyn Semler, along with her family prior to the start of game one on Saturday. Adopted by the Panthers in January of 2010, Reagyn will get to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the second straight season and will be joined on the field by both teams, along with Ashland's adopted child, Mariah Thomas.

Throughout Saturday's games, ODU will have a silent auction and donation basket with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the FOJ Foundation. Below is a list of the various silent auction items.

On Sunday following the completion of game two, the Panthers will recognize its five senior student-athletes: Jennifer Baker (Cortland, OH), Shana Etter (Tuslaw, OH), Maria Staton (New Bremen, OH), Cassandra Weitz (Dayton, OH) and Samantha Wolfe (Columbus, OH).

Saturday's silent auction items:

• 2 Ohio State Buckeye football tickets - $300 value
• One night stay at The Inn at Versailles, including $50 gift card to Michael Anthony's at the Inn, a bottle of champagne, rose and chocolates from Ghyslain Chocolatier - $200 value
• Autographed home plate by former Ohio State Buckeye All-American and current ESPN football analyst Chris Spielman
• 4 Columbus Clippers tickets vs. Indianapolis on Wednesday, Aug. 8, Tansky Sawmill Toyota Club All-Access Pass and parking pass - $50 value
• 2 Columbus Clippers tickets to one of three select dates and Tansky Sawmill Toyota Club All-Access Pass
• 2 18-hole passes and cart to Village View Golf Course
• Several gift baskets, consisting of a World Market beer/wine basket, car detailing package, movie night out, Ohio Dominican apparel/items, Ashland apparel/items and chocolates.
