Wayne State's Hanes & Allen Named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-American Teams

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Two members of the Wayne State University softball squad were voted to the Daktronics All-America teams announced today. Senior pitcher Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) earned first-team accolades while sophomore outfielder Alison Allen (Redford, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy) earned third-team honors.
Hanes will take a 42-6 mark along with a nation-leading 0.53 earned-run average into the Warriors' opening game of the 2010 Division II College World Series tomorrow evening against Hawaii Pacific.
Hanes has struck out 355 batters, which ranks third in D-II, while her 19 shutouts and 42 victories rank second. She is also third in fewest hits per seven innings (3.69).
Allen (Redford, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy) earned Third Team
All-America honors after hitting .408 with a .456 on-base
percentage along with a school-record 133 total bases this
season. She is 18th nationally in toughest to strikeout
(seven times in 237 plate appearances).
