Wayne States Hanes Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Wayne State University senior Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) has been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week for games played between April 5 and April 11, 2010.
Hanes went 4-0 last week allowing just 16 hits, one earned run, 10 walks and 41 strikeouts over 30.1 innings of work. She finished the week with a 0.23 ERA, four complete games and two shutouts.
The native of Richmond, Va., pitched a two-hit gem against Ashland and struck out 10 or more batters on three separate occasions. Hanes disallowed any extra base hits by her opponents last week while limiting them to just a .156 batting average.
The 16th-ranked Warriors, who went 5-1 last week, are currently 31-8 on the year and 7-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
