SVSU's Jade Fulton Named NFCA Division II "Pitcher of the Week"

Starkville, Miss. -- Erin MacNamee of West
Chester and Saginaw Valley State's Jade Fulton
have been named the Lousiville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player and
Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week ending March 15,
2009, the NFCA announced on Wednesday.
Erin MacNamee, a sophomore outfielder from Exton,
Pa., hit .643 last week, going 9-for-14 with seven walks for a .762
on-base percentage. She scored 12 runs to help West Chester turn in
a perfect 6-0 record for the week.
The Golden Rams' leadoff hitter also provided some power with one
double, two triples and a home run while knocking in five RBI for a
1.214 slugging percentage. MacNamee also stole three bases in four
attempts and was named the PSAC Player of the Week.
Jade Fulton, a sophomore pitcher for Saginaw
Valley State led the Cardinals in the circle during their annual
spring trip. At the 2009 Rebel Spring Games last week, the Byron,
Mich., native went 4-1 with two saves and a 0.17 ERA over eight
appearances, tossing 41 innings while allowing just 18 hits, three
runs, one earned run and four walks while striking out 55 opposing
batters last week.
Fulton closed out the week with a no-hitter against Southwest
Minnesota on March 14, striking out nine and walking one for the
seven-inning no-no. Fulton had 10 strikeouts in a win over
Concordia-St. Paul and nine-strikeout games against Northern
Kentucky and C.W. Post last week.
