UIndy's Amber Cooper and WSU's Andrey Seryy Named GLIAC Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively
BAY CITY, Mich. - University of Indianapolis freshman Amber Cooper (Elizabaethtown, Ky.) Wayne State University junior Andrey Seryy (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Olympic Reserve School) were named Great Lake Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively, for their efforts last weekend.

Freshman Amber Cooper won a pair of events to lead UIndy to victory over GLIAC rival Hillsdale, 153-107, on Saturday at Ruth Lilly Center Pool. Cooper won the 200 breast in 2:26.67 and then came back to win the 200 IM in 2:13.39. She also finished second in the 100 breast in 1:09.08 and had the fastest breast split in the 200 medley relay with a swim of 31.19.

Wayne State University junior Andrey Seryy won the 50 free (20.42) and the 100 free (44.79), and joined three first-place relays as Wayne State was victorious in a two-day dual meet at Lewis last weekend. Seryy led off the 800 free relay (6:54.62) and the 200 free relay (1:27.27), and anchored the 400 medley relay (3:31.42). He also contributed to three of WSU's seven pool records.
