WSU's Ashley Corriveau and LEC's Dan Torres Named GLIAC Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively
BAY CITY, Mich. - Wayne State University sophomore Ashley Corriveau (Metamora, Mich./Lapeer East) and Lake Erie College freshman Dan Torres (Chihuahua, Mexico) were named Great Lake Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's and Men's Swimming & Diving "Athletes of the Week," respectively, for their efforts last weekend.

Wayne State University sophomore Ashley Corriveau contributed two first-place finishes as Wayne State defeated Findlay, 95-50, in WSU's final home meet of the season on Friday. Corriveau earned an NCAA "B" cut in the 100 Freestyle (52.38) and also won the 200 Freestyle (1:56.97).

Lake Erie College freshman Daniel Torres posted an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time and two individual wins at the Notre Dame (Ohio) College Quad on Friday. Torres' "B" cut time of 1:55.53 in the 200 individual medley bested his top time coming into the meet by more than two seconds and fell below the 1:56.79 standard. The highlight came with a lightning fast 21.56 second split in the free portion of the IM. Torres was not done on the day as he also won his other individual event, the 100 yard butterfly, in 52:46. It was his first swim in the 100 butterfly this season.
