GLIAC Teams Finish Well at 2010 NCAA D-II Swimming & Diving Championships

CANTON, Ohio - Teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has a great showing at the 2010 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships held at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.

Four GLIAC Women's teams finished in the Top 10 at the D-II Championships, led by Wayne State University's second-place showing.  The Warriors tallied 531 points and trailed only D-II Champ Drury University (Mo.), which recorded 657 points, in the final standings.

Ashland University finished in seveth place with 183 points, Grand Valley State University placed eighth with 180 points, while the University of Indianapolis garnered ninth place with 171 points.  The University of Findlay was the fifth GLIAC team to place at the event, taking 21st with 39 points.

On the men's side, Wayne State and Grand Valley State finished in third and fourth place, respectively.  The Warriors tallied 343 points, while the Lakers earned 314 points.  Ashland also recorded at Top 10 finish, placing tenth with 178 points.

Lewis University gathered 57 points to place 18th, while UIndy finished 21st after earning 31 points, rounding out the scoring for GLIAC teams.
