Grand Valley State Leads After Round One of the 2009 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Grand Valley State University leads after the first round of the 2009 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Golf Championship on the Greywalls Golf Course at the Marquette Golf Club (Marquette, Mich.).
The Lakers posted a 13-over par round of 297 on a chilly day in Michigan's Upper Penninsula, taking a one-stroke lead over a University of Findlay team that carded a round of 298 (+14). Saginaw Valley State University sits in third place having posted a round of 299 (+15), just two strokes off the pace.
Wayne State University (301, +17) and Ferris State University (302, +18) round out the top five.
Grand Valley State University's Matt Malloure and Ferris State University's Eric Lilleboe share the individual lead after each player shot one-under-par rounds of 70. Wayne State University's Eric Johnson and Grand Valley State's Chase Olsen are currently tied for third after carding rounds of 72 (+2).
Round #2 tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Round #3 will start at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
