Grand Valley State Retains Lead After Day 2 of the 2009 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Grand Valley State University widened its lead during the second round of the 2009 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Golf Championship on the Greywalls Golf Course at the Marquette Golf Club (Marquette, Mich.).
The Lakers posted a 11-over par round of 295 on a wet and cold day in Michigan's Upper Penninsula, extending their to six strokes after posting the low round to this point of the tournament. Grand Valley State has a two-round total of 592.
Wayne State University carded a round of 297 and currently sits in second place with a 598 total, six strokes back of GVSU. Ferris State University posted a round of 301, good for third a 603 total, nine strokes back of the leaders.
University of Findlay team that carded a round of 309 (+25) and have a total score of 607. Saginaw Valley State University sits in fifth place having posted a round of 310 (+26), now 15 strokes off the pace.
Ferris State University's Eric Lilleboe leads the race for the individual title after posting his second-straight round of 70. His two-under-par score of 140 puts Lilleboe two strokes ahead of Wayne State University's Eric Johnson (143, +1). Grand Valley State University's Matt Malloure resides in third place with a two-round total of 144 (+2).
The final round of the 2009 GLIAC Men's Golf Championsip will start at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
