BAY CITY, Mich. -Michigan Technological University senior forward Ali Haidar (Windsor, Ont./Forster) and University of Findlay junior forward Greg Kahlig (Recovery, Ohio) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Basketball North and South Division "Players of the Week", respectively.

Michigan Technological University senior forward Ali Haidar scored 55 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a pair of games last week. The Windsor, Ont., native opened the season with a double-double scoring a season-high 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 75-67 win at Southwest Minnesota State. He also had three assists, one block and one steal. He followed up with 22 points and five rebounds against Minn. Duluth. Haidar currently ranks 14th in career scoring at Michigan Tech with 1,326 points.

University of Findlay junior forward Greg Kahlig led the Oilers to a 1-1 record during their first week of competition by averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. In the Oilers 90-74 loss to #1 West Liberty State, Kahlig had 14 points, three rebounds and three assists. He then followed with 23 points and six boards in the Oilers 74-65 win over Cedarville. Kahlig also shot 65 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the free throw line in the two games.
