Findlay, Hillsdale, and Ferris State All Ranked in the Most Recent NABC Division II Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a week that saw 16
ranked teams suffer losses at some point in time – including
all of the squads ranked from second through ninth -- the new
NABC/Division II men’s basketball rankings show the effects
even with the top two teams holding their positions.
West Liberty, now the last remaining undefeated team in NCAA
Division II, retains the top spot again this week and Bellarmine
stays at No. 2, even though the Knights were knocked off Saturday
by Kentucky Wesleyan. The team gaining the biggest boost into
the top 10 from the upheaval is Humboldt State, who leaped from
tenth to third as they grabbed hold of the top spot in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Alabama-Huntsville held its No. 4 spot despite its loss, while
Augusta State moved up six spots to fifth this week.
Minnesota State also made a huge jump with the losses across the country, as the Mavericks climbed eight spots to No. 6 this week. Central Oklahoma remained at No. 7 as did Missouri Southern at No. 8, followed by Arkansas Tech and Findlay, who dropped from a third place ranking a week ago after falling twice.
The second 10 is headed by Central Washington, who out of the top 10 along with the next two teams in the poll, Southern Indiana and Lincoln Memorial. Harding slides up two spots to No. 14 and Cal State-Dominguez Hills comes in at No. 15. Hillsdale is ranked 16th this week and is followed by Fort Hays State, Rollins and the two that held the final two positions in last week’s poll, the University of Mary and Tarleton State.
The final five spots in this week’s poll belong to Ferris State, Bowie State, Colorado School of Mines, Bentley and Mercyhurst.
The NCAA will release its updated regional rankings on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
