Three GLIAC Schools reach the top 10 in the Latest NABC Division II Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As the holiday season – and the NCAA’s mandated break in the basketball season – arrives, the top three spots in the NABC/Division II men’s basketball rankings will remain the same as the calendar moves closer to 2011.

Bellarmine stays atop the rankings for the third consecutive week after winning its only game a week ago, while Findlay and West Liberty also won its games to keep a hold on the second and third spots.  Alabama-Huntsville picked up a pair of impressive road wins at Arkansas Tech and Harding to move up to No. 4, while Augusta State also won twice on the road to reach the top five for the first time this season.

The second five begins with Fort Hays State, followed by two teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Hillsdale and Grand Valley State.  Montevallo and Kentucky Wesleyan completed the top 10, then Central Washington came in at No. 11 after suffering its first loss last week.  Southern Indiana checks in at No. 12, followed by South Carolina Aiken, undefeated Incarnate Word and Cal State-Dominguez Hills.

Minnesota State, who bumped off then-No. 7 Winona State Saturday, moved up six spots to No. 16, while Lincoln Memorial climbed from 19th to 17th this week.  Indiana (Pa.) held its position at No. 18, followed by Missouri Southern and Winona State.

Two teams from the Lone Star Conference, Midwestern State and Central Oklahoma, head up the final five teams in the final rankings for the 2010 calendar year.  Christian Brothers makes its first appearance in the poll this season at No. 23, with the 24th spot being shared by Eckerd and Bentley, which has won eight consecutive games after losing twice to open the season.
